Fellowship Trained in Spine Surgery
Dr. Nick Ghazarian is a Los Angeles native and alumnus of UCLA. After receiving his undergraduate degree in biology, Dr. Ghazarian went on to complete medical school at Touro University of Nevada and an intensive residency program in orthopedic surgery in Nevada, where he served as Chief Resident. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Ghazarian was selected as a Spine Surgery Fellow at the prestigious San Diego Spine Foundation. Afterwards he returned to his hometown to start his own practice.
Dr. Ghazarian is grateful to have trained under some of the pioneers in spine surgery during his residency and fellowship, including: Dr. William Smith, Dr. Behrooz Akbarnia, Dr. Robert Eastlack, Dr. Greg Mundis, Dr. Dan Lee, and Dr. John Thalgott.
Dr. Ghazarian’s research and focus on cutting edge minimally invasive treatments of complex spinal conditions have resulted in numerous published articles, lectures and presentations at national conferences.
Dr. Ghazarian is committed to both local and global outreach. As an active member of the nonprofit organization, Global Spine Outreach (GSO) http://globalspineoutreach.org Dr. Ghazarian has provided complex spinal surgeries to underprivileged children with life threatening spinal conditions, meanwhile training local physicians in/on up to date management of these conditions.
Locally, Dr. Ghazarian has provided free high school physicals for low income families, counseled teens involved in gang violence, as well as given talks at multiple schools and events. He was granted Southern Nevada Public Health Hero of 2016 , in recognition of his efforts.
Having trained in multiple martial art forms, Dr. Ghazarian has enjoyed treating many amateur and professional UFC fighters and boxers as the ringside physician at a multitude of amateur and professional fights, Crossfit and Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competitions. In his free time, Dr. Ghazarian enjoys staying active and traveling domestically and abroad.
